Room 516, Thursday Evening

Kaylee was starting to get settled into her new room. The extra space meant more room for all of her random engine parts. Unless, of course, she acquired more.

Currently, she was putting Christmas lights up. She really didn't care that the holiday was over. They were pretty.

"I know Christmas is over, but the lights are so shiny," Kaylee said. "Couldn't resist."

Alphonse blinked. "Those are some sort of Christmas thing too?"

Kaylee nodded. "People like to decorate for it. I'm okay with any excuse for shiny lights."

"They brighten up the room at least," Alphonse chuckled. "Have you had anything interesting happen these past few days? Seems like a lot's been going on."

"Not too much, which is strange cause I like meetin' new people and all," Kaylee said. "I hear there are lots of those lately."

"Yeah, there's a whole lot of them," Alphonse said. "I've only met a few, but I'll be trying to fix that."

"I haven't met many, so I'll be fixin' that too," Kaylee said.

"I have to wonder what kind of new places they'd be from or things they could do," Alphonse said thoughtfully. "I always found those things interesting to hear about." He found himself grinning, then added, "It'd be impossible to write a book about this place."

"Maybe, but it would be a fun book to read," Kaylee added.

"I'd feel sorry for the person having to write it, then," Alphonse replied. "Waaaay too much to jot down."

"Might be easy for someone with super memory or somethin'," Kaylee said. "In this place, it could happen."

Alphonse made a brief, odd face at the thought of that, and after realizing she was right about that, let out a small chuckle. "You have a point there," he said amusingly. "With everything else that goes on here, that probably wouldn't be one of the more weirder things."
