Room 516, Thursday Evening

Kaylee ran back to her room after the strange incident in the park and had been there ever since. She still didn't feel safe, though. She was very tired and unwilling to move. She had a blanket wrapped around her, but the cold still lingered. Nothing seemed to make it go away.

The shadows in her room seemed normal, but that didn't stop her from watching them.

"Yeah, except I'm real cold," Kaylee said quietly. "And tired. And I can't open my door."

"Me too," Alphonse said. "Feel like I haven't slept in ages, but now wouldn't feel right to take a nap." He turned towards the door. "Pippi said if she concentrated hard enough she could grab things. I've tried to, or maybe I'm just not concentrating right."

Kaylee nodded. "Concentrate, I think I can manage that."

She glanced at the shadows in her room. "I'm afraid they'll come back."

Alphonse did the same before quickly replying, "Don't worry, they won't." He actually didn't know if that was true, and in fact knew it was a possibility, but Alphonse would rather take the more comforting route. "I don't mind sticking around if you don't want to be alone."

Kaylee smiled for the first time since the shadows attacked. "You don't mind?"

"I don't," Alphonse assured. "I'm not sure how much I can do in the state I'm in now," He waved his hand a bit, almost seeming to inspect it again-- Alphonse found himself unable to stop doing that, because it still looked normal despite everything. "But I'll keep you company if it makes you feel safer."

"It'll make me feel better havin' someone here," Kaylee said. "Thanks, Al."

Alphonse smiled at her, and then decided to take an empty spot on the floor up against a wall. Standing up wasn't helping his already exhausted state. "Then I won't go anywhere, until you kick me out or something," he chuckled, attempting to lighten the mood.

"Got no reason to do that," Kaylee replied, sitting beside him on the floor.

"Okay, good," Alphonse said. "Also good that I don't have classes tomorrow. I am very not up for that, now."

Kaylee didn't respond because she had fallen asleep, her head resting on Alphonse's shoulder.
